$Cashtag Your Donation to Political Candidates
Twitter announced a new capability in a blog post last Tuesday. Powered by Square, you can now donate to a political candidate through Twitter. This social media platform knows political conversations are generally had on Twitter, so they’ve teamed up with Square to enable anyone in the U.S. to make a donation directly to a U.S. candidate through a Tweet.
It will be interesting to see how this technology not only funds money for our presidential candidates in the near future, but how it may also springboard to other fundraising initiatives for nonprofits.
