Incredibly Moist Cornbread

  • mixing bowl
  • 9x13 pan


  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup milk whole if possible


  • Add flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder, and sugar together in a mixing bowl and blend.
  • Combine milk, eggs, and oil in another bowl and blend together. Slowly add the liquid to the bowl of dry ingredients, mixing as you add liquid. Mix just enough to incorporate together.
  • Spray a 9x13 cake pan with non-stick food spray and pour the batter into the pan. Smooth it out evenly.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy!
