Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped or whole
  • 1 9 inch pie crust, unbaked

Instructions
 

  • Whisk sugar, syrup, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt together in bowl.  As you whisk, think of those you love and how they will enjoy this sweet holiday indulgence (I added that). Pour into a 9 inch homemade crust. Once the filling has settled in the crust, carefully place pecan halves on the top of the pie in concentric circles.  
  • Place pie on a foil lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 400F degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350F degrees and cook approximately 30 – 40 minutes longer until filling is set in center. Let cool and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
