By Michael Fruchtman, CFO
Ingredients:
-leftover steak
-1/4 cup sour cream
-1 tablespoon horseradish
-1 large onion
-extra virgin olive oil
-2 teaspoons brown sugar
-ciabatta rolls
-garlic salt
-garlic powder
-Monterey jack cheese, thinly sliced
Directions:
Thinly slice steak against the grain into strips. Allow steak to come to room temperature.
In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and horseradish until smooth. Set aside.
Slice onion into rings about 1/2 inch thick. Heat skillet or saucepan and add 1 tablespoon oil. Add onion, a pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon brown sugar. Sauté slowly until brown and caramelized, stirring frequently. This can take 20+ minutes depending on how brown you want your onions.
Cut open rolls and brush insides with olive oil. Sprinkle on some garlic salt and garlic powder and toast in oven or toaster oven, cut side up until lightly browned and toasted.
