Family-Approved Honey Bun Cake

by Sarah Roush, Graphic Designer & Digital Marketing Assistant My mother-in-law and I don’t always see eye-to-eye, but when it comes to this honey bun cake, we’re in 100% agreement. It is DELICIOUS!

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp vanilla extract
  1. Mix cake mi, oil, eggs and sour cream by hand, about 50 strokes.

  2. Put half the batter in a 9x13" pan.

  3. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and spread over the entire cake.

  4. Spread the rest of the batter on top. Use a knife to make swirls in the cake.

  5. Bake at 325 degrees F for about 40 minutes.

  6. Blend powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract and spread on warm cake.
