Garden Fresh Salsa

Garden Fresh Salsa

by Charles Pobee-Mensah, Director of Digital Marketing Nothing is better than garden fresh salsa! You can choose your own heat once you have the perfect base. Chop fresh tomatoes - one of the best tricks for cutting tomatoes is to use a bread knife. The serrated edge makes slicing through tomatoes way easier! Once the tomatoes are sliced, put them in a bowl and sprinkle with salt. Let them sit until the salt turns to water on the tomatoes. This helps the salty flavor sink in. Slice onions and green peppers very finely, then add to the tomatoes. Chopped cilantro adds a beautiful flavor, but can be skipped if you don't have it. Add Louisiana hot sauce, pepper and a dash of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to taste.
Adding heat!!
Once you've established a delicious base, you can add as much or little heat as you like. Hungarian or Banana peppers are great to chop finely to add a subtle amount of heat. Feeling bold? Jalapeno peppers are a great addition for those who love a large amount of heat.
