Grandma's Waffles

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 3 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4 large Eggs, Separated
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 6 tbsp Shortening, Melted
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • Non-Stick cooking Spray
    1. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar on wax paper.

    2. Separate eggs and place egg yolks in a large bowl and egg whites in a regular bowl. Beat egg whites until firm.

    3. Add milk and melted shortening.

    4. Add flour mixture and STIR BY HAND just enough to moisten dry ingredients.

    5. Fold in egg whites.

    6. Bake in waffle iron 4-5 min.

    7. Top with Jif peanut butter and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup!
