Fabergé Creates The Ultimate Easter Egg

Fabergé Creates The Ultimate Easter Egg

It has been nearly 100 years since Fabergé created its last Imperial Egg, but the company has returned to its roots, creating a incredible new egg. According to National Jeweler, Fabergé’s new Pearl Egg required the work of 20 artisans. Its design was inspired by the creation of a pearl within an oyster – the mother-of-pearl outside opens to show a unique 12.17-carat gray pearl from the Arabian Gulf. The egg is set with 139 fine white pearls with a golden luster, 3,305 diamonds, carved rock crystal, and mother-of-pearl set on white and yellow gold. Its base has white pearls, diamonds, and mother-of-pearl in a scallop-motif design. A special clasp allows the exterior to rotate on its base, allowing all six sections of the egg to open simultaneously and unveil the pearl within. If Fabergé ever decides to sponsor an egg hunt, I’ll be first in line with my running shoes on and my basket firmly in hand.
