World’s Second Largest Diamond Found In Botswana!

Talk about a buzz! Imagine the buzz around the offices of Lucara Diamonds and the Karowe Mine in Botswana when a 1,111 carat gemstone-quality diamond was found at the end of 2015. After a naming contest in Botswana, the diamond is now known as "Lesedi La Rona" which means “Our Light” in the Tswana language of Botswana. The gem measures 65mm x 56mm x 40mm and is second only to the 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond found in South Africa in 1905. Lucara found that the diamond was too big to fit within their in-house scanner and thus requires a larger 3rd party scanner! Read more here.
