Best Brisket Ever

Best Brisket Ever

by Ellen Fruchtman, President If you’re serving a crowd, nothing could be easier than preparing a Brisket of Beef…this recipe gets raves every time!
  • 4 to 6-pound beef brisket (the larger the better as brisket shrinks)
  • 12-ounce jar of chili sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1-2 onions sliced (love onions? Use two)
  • 1 can of beer
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Optional: Season your brisket with some salt, pepper and a light amount of seasoned salt and brown on both sides. Spray a large roasting pan (with cover) with non-stick spray. Combine all ingredients other than onion. Put your brisket in the pan and layer onions on top. Pour the chili, sugar and beer mixture over it. Cook 1.5 hours uncovered and then another 1.5 hours covered in a 325-degree oven. Take the brisket out and slice against the grain. Can make early and at that point can slice and put back in the gravy to reheat!
