Using Canva With Class, Not Compromise

Using Canva With Class, Not Compromise

by Ashley Buckowing, Art Director

In today’s fast-paced digital world, Canva has become the go-to tool for many business owners. It allows non-designers to create cohesive designs while maintaining aesthetic consistency, and giving direction to an otherwise average marketing piece. But convenience can come at the cost of distinction.

While Canva boasts polished designs, they are inherently mass produced. This means that your event creative for your high-end jewelry line could appear in a pizza parlour the very next day, which diminishes the exclusivity that luxury jewelers strive for. Additionally, Canva is not conducive to producing high-quality print materials. Professional printers require advanced file formats and layered source files for the most crisp end product. Handing over a Canva file to a printer is much like pairing a couture gown with off-the-rack accessories.

In short: Canva is a fabulous tool for mood boards and idea generation, but should be used primarily as a complement or a quick-turn tool for secondary materials. If your goal is to exude craftsmanship, intention and artistry, relying on the creative mind always takes the cake for bespoke designs that speak specifically to your brand. And who doesn’t love cake?
