Grandma’s Waffles

Grandma's Waffles
Equipment
- Waffle Iron
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 6 tablespoons shortening, melted
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- Non-Stick cooking Spray
Instructions
- Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar on wax paper.
- Separate eggs and place egg yolks in a large bowl and egg whites in a regular bowl. Beat egg whites until firm.
- Add milk and melted shortening.
- Add flour mixture and STIR BY HAND just enough to moisten dry ingredients.
- Fold in egg whites.
- Bake in waffle iron 4-5 min.
- Top with Jif peanut butter and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup!
